To date, WAG Rescue has adopted out over 750 dogs and puppies into loving homes. WAG Rescue has a Refuge and Adoption Center located 15 minutes from Wimberley Square where we house some of the dogs in our care along with many dogs located in loving foster homes. We could not take care of our dogs and find them homes without our dedicated volunteers, donors and the cooperation of our local veterinarians, Wimberley Veterinary Clinic and Cypress Creek Animal Hospital.

We experience incredibly challenging dog rescues from puppies with parvo virus to dogs being hit by cars to dogs that are horribly neglected and abused. Thankfully, we see many happy endings. The majority of our dogs are found and unclaimed. We also help re-home dogs when owners can no longer care for them and we rescue dogs from local animal shelters that euthanize. Some dogs are adopted within days while some take months to find their new family, especially the dogs that are sick. We do not give up! Each dog touches our heart and we do our best to find them the best home.

Here are pictures of some of our adopted dogs and their stories. Share in the happiness!

Percy Scout

This is Percy (dog) with Shepherd & Scout (dog) with Carlisle. This is a wonderful picture they shared. The kids had been afraid of dogs, but really wanted to have a dog. The family came to our adoption day and the kids just fell in love with two labs (we called them Penn & Teller). These two labs went from being abandoned, eating garbage out of garbage cans to being beloved pets. This is why we do what we do.
