- Applications are considered in the order they’re received.
- We frequently receive multiple applications on a dog.
- An application must be submitted before we can set up a meet and greet.
- Adoption applications are found by clicking on the dog’s image under Our Dogs.

Browse our adoptable dogs page or come to one of our adoption events to meet our dogs. Our dogs are also listed on Petfinder.com and AdoptaPet.com
Fill out an application on the dog(s) you’re interested in. A WAG representative will contact you to set up a meet and greet!
Remember there is no obligation to adopt when you submit an application. We want to help you find the right dog and the right home for our dogs.

Adoption ABC's

What WAG Rescue Requires
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- A completed application. Vet reference will be conducted if applicable.
- Have a permanent residence. The information you provide on the application will be used to determine if your home environment meets the needs of the dog.
- Resident dogs in the adopter’s home must be sterilized and current on all vaccines and on heartworm medication.
- A securely fenced yard is preferred, but exceptions are made based on size, age and activity level of dog.
- Dogs must be kept inside at night.
- If you can’t keep the dog you adopted, we ask that you contact us.
Adopter’s Responsibilities
- Must agree to keep the dog current on all vaccinations, provide Heartworm and flea and tick prevention year round and provide veterinary care as needed.
- If adopting a puppy, sterilize by 6 months of age. A refundable deposit of $200 will be returned with proof of spay/neuter.
- Puppies will require additional vaccinations based on age, which is the responsibility of the adopter.
- Provide protection from the elements when outside.
- Provide food, treats, toys, care and exercise
- Do not tether or chain the dog-it’s against Texas law and we reserve the right to take the dog back.
- Do not transport the dog in the open bed of a pickup without a secured kennel.
More About Our Adoptable Dogs
- All adult dogs have been fully vetted and are current with DHLPP, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered.
- Our adult dogs are “foster to adopt” – a trial period to get to know each other. During this time, WAG Rescue supplies their food, bedding and medical care. If it’s a good match, the adoption becomes permanent!
Our dogs are Heartworm tested and receive Heartworm Preventative monthly, as well as flea and tick prevention. Each heartworm positive dog will have a unique treatment plan that will be discussed with the potential adopter.

- Puppies have been vetted, de-wormed, vaccinated (age appropriate) and microchipped.
- All of our dogs and puppies are microchipped and registered with 24PetWatch.
- Upon adoption, the microchip will be transferred to the new owner free of charge.
