Foster a Dog

The foster family is a very important part of our organization. It’s through the generous hearts and homes of our volunteers, we ensure that animals who come into our care will never again be alone, hungry, sick, or afraid. All we ask is for you to open your heart and your home to a dog in need of a second chance.

Please complete our Foster Application. We will contact you once we receive the application to discuss foster opportunities with WAG Rescue.

What WAG Rescue Needs in a Foster Home

  • The most important requirements are time, patience and compassion.
  • The foster family should commit to keep the dog until adoption if possible.
  • Dogs must be contained in fenced, secure yard. Exceptions are apartments with small foster dogs.
  • The foster will administer heartworm, flea and tick preventative and sometimes prescription medications.
  • The foster will assist the dog with house training if necessary.
  • WAG Rescue requires that all resident dogs in the foster home are neutered or spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
