WAG Rescue’s 15th Annual WAGala: Barks & Boots

Celebrating Texas Generosity & Second Chances
Barks & Boots 15th Annual WAGala Invitation

Celebrate Hill Country style in polished attire with a Texas twist. Think cocktail dresses or sundresses, sport coats or button-downs, boots or dress shoes, and your favorite Texas-inspired accessories.

Event attendees will hear stories of WAG dogs who have been given a second chance to find loving, forever homes and see firsthand how our community’s generosity transforms the lives of abandoned and stray dogs in Hays County.

This memorable evening will feature a delicious dinner, complimentary beer and wine (with mixed drinks available for purchase at Dark Skies Tavern), an exciting Silent Auction, and live music by local favorite Don Reilly – all set against the beautiful backdrop of Cypress Creek.

WAGala benefits Wimberley Adoption Group & Rescue (WAG Rescue) and its mission to help alleviate overcrowding in Central Texas shelters and provide adoption services to the community.

If you have any questions, please contact WAG Rescue Executive Director Christine Gaussiran at chris@wimberleywagrescue.org.

About WAG Rescue

WAG Rescue was founded in and has served the Wimberley area and surrounding communities for 17 years. Since our founding in 2009, WAG Rescue has rescued over 2,680 dogs and puppies from neglect, abandonment, and overcrowded shelters across Central Texas. In 2025, WAG Rescue brought 260 dogs to safety and care at our refuge in Driftwood – with over 80% of those pulled from local shelters – and celebrated as 247 dogs were adopted and found their new homes.

We are committed to providing every dog who comes to WAG Rescue – no matter their age, breed, or health status – with the medical care, training, and compassion they need to thrive. Beyond rescue, we are equally committed to building a more compassionate community through education, outreach, and spay/neuter advocacy. In 2025, WAG Rescue funded 179 spay/neuters through collaboration with area partners, supporting a total of 1,892 such procedures since our founding.
